Are you worried when others can’t understand what your child says? Do you wish it wasn’t so frustrating trying to communicate with your child? Wouldn’t you love to find a way to relieve that frustration?
I can help you with that! I have over 20 years of experience working with children and families very much like yours. With a Master’s degree in speech pathology, I specialize in speech, language and cognitive development. I am passionate about helping people find creative solutions to life’s challenges and giving parents new ideas to bring their family closer together. I’ve worked with children who have mild pronunciation delays, kids with rare genetic disorders and multiple developmental delays, and everything in between. Though their specific goals were different, in the end, the needs of all the children and their families are the same. They need a way to communicate with each other, and my job is to help you figure out the best way to build those communication skills with your child.
What started out as a professional interest became very personal when my firstborn son was blessed not only with a gifted IQ, but also ADD, sensory issues, multiple allergies and sensitivities, and some traits of Asperger’s. So, I really do understand the struggles you are going through and freely share with parents the things I’ve learned along the journey. We can laugh now about how he walked away from his own birthday party at age 3, and how socks on his feet and carpet simply could not touch! But at the time, it wasn’t very funny and most people just didn’t understand.
So, if you are looking for professional guidance from someone who has been “in the trenches”, I would love to talk with you. Combining both professional and personal experience allows me to provide you and your child the training that you need with the understanding and empathy you deserve.
Whether your child has a speech delay or complicated language issues, I will work with you and your child to ease your communication struggles.
If you do not live locally, I will consult with you over Skype to guide you in working with your child at home.
I look forward to helping you bring clearer speech, better communication, and better relationships into your home!
