Frustrated?
You’ve read all the books and tried everything you know to do, but something isn’t right. Your child isn’t learning to talk the way you expected, and it’s getting harder to find ways to communicate. You’re worried because your child is falling behind his peers. And frankly, you’re beginning to feel like a failure because you can’t fix it all.
Embarrassed?
You want to be a sensational parent, but what you’ve tried doesn’t seem to be working. You’re afraid to take your child out in public because you’re never sure when the next meltdown will happen. You’re tired of the stares from strangers who have no idea what your life is really like. And you just might scream if you get one more bit of well-meaning advice that you KNOW will not work for your child.
Don’t give up!
Whether you believe it or not right now, you are the perfect parent for your child. You can learn skills to communicate more easily with your child, reduce the frustration, and begin to feel more successful at this adventure called parenting.
Let’s face it. Some kids are harder to deal with than others. These kids require much more time, patience, and energy on our part just to get through the day. Whether your child has a speech and language delay or not, better communication strategies reduce the stress on everyone, and that’s where I can help.
This may not sound like traditional speech therapy to you, and you’re right. I believe in family -focused training. When you work with me, instead of staying in the waiting room wondering what’s going on as your child is “doing speech therapy”, you will be with your child and me as we experiment with new strategies together. That way, I get lots of feedback from you about what works and what doesn’t so we can make changes and fine tune our approach.
You get the benefits of learning alongside your child and implementing your new skills immediately. That means more consistent carryover at home and more rapid progress in the area that matters most – communicating clearly with your child!
And if you don’t live locally, you can still benefit from my family-focused approach. Just consult with me by phone or Skype and we’ll come up with a plan to get your family interacting in a whole new way!
